I am he who bears the name Rafiqos (online nickname alter ego :P). My real name is Norul Rafiq Namas Khan. I'm 28 years old this year. Animals have been around me before I could walk and talk. For this, I have to thank my father. Two particular things that bring me to life are running after animals and running away from animals.

Blue tongue skinks have been part of my life for the past 5 years. My first experience seeing one in person was back during early 2005, as I recalled my old comrade and professeur in the hobby (Alvin Cheong @ funkychips) lugging around a large 'shiny' lizard in a shopping mall in Damansara. This peculiar looking animal had a blue tongue flicking in and out in a friendly manner. That was the start of it all and now here I am working harder then ever to bring these gentle giants into the lives of others.

Aside from doing skinks, I also have other interests which have over the course of time, seeped into my daily routine. These other novelties will also be traded for or propagated and will be available for offerings from time to time though not extensively. They include colubrids, geckos, amphibians, and invertebrates. We also offer small numbers of other goods such as books and herp gears.

Being a personal keeper, I do not bother with a wide number of species or quantities. It would be both physically and financially impossible at this moment to compete with the larger players in this niche interest. I am definitely interested in trades or partial payment and trade for other skinks or animals. It doesn't hurt to ask. You never know what I might be interested in.

Mission

Over the initial few years of keeping reptiles and arachnids, I realised that the local pet keeping hobby lacked a key component; that being Knowledge. Traders and shopowners passed off animals to unwarry buyers without handing along with it the special attention to the required husbandry, identification of the species, care and breeding of the critters sold. The animals, to them are merely another disposable asset for monetary gains. Don't get us wrong, we love money too! We just happen to love the animals as well. ;)

We at TheLizardsLounge.com focus on knowledge sharing right from the average bidding hobbyist up to the novice, with special interest in blue tongue skinks, cornsnakes, invertebrates and airplants. We value you as a viewer of this site and gladly accept your valuable input.
